Dr. Gonzalez, MD is a Laredo, Texas-native, a board-certified sports medicine and family physician with a celebrated background in martial arts. A high school champion in karate and boxing, he was inducted into the International Latin Sports Hall of Fame in 2009. He graduated from Texas A&M University and earned his M.D. from the American University of the Caribbean. He specialized in Family Medicine at Reading Hospital and completed his Sports Medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He served as the team physician for the University of Pittsburgh Panthers football team and worked with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre among others.
Dr. Gonzalez's practice is based in Laredo, focusing on cutting-edge diagnostics and ultrasound orthopedic procedures. He specializes in minimally invasive procedures for conditions such as carpal tunnel and Achilles tendon issues. He is also passionate about regenerative medicine. Outside his practice, Dr. Gonzalez enjoys jiu jitsu, boxing, fishing, hunting, and golfing. He also enjoys gardening, reading, and cooking in his leisure time.
