Are you able to do a release on both wrists on the same day?

When clinically indicated, a patient can have ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release performed on both wrists on the same day. There are several published manuscripts that include outcomes data on patients who had simultaneous bilateral releases.3,6,7,10

Postoperative therapy is typically not required.5

Many patients can tolerate immediate motion of their hand. Please consult with your treating physician for post procedure instructions.5

About Dr. Robert Myers

Dr. Robert Myers is a distinguished plastic and hand surgeon. His attention to detail and his caring manner assures that his patients get individualized care. Dr. Myers is board certified by The American Board of Surgery and The American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is the only board-certified physician in hand surgery in Etowah County and its surroundings. The Hand Surgery Examination (HSE) is developed and administered by the Joint Committee on Hand Surgery. The examination is administered annually with an average of 30 physicians per year earning their certification nationally. Dr. Myers received his certificate in 2013 and is the 702nd recipient.

Dr. Myers enjoys a busy and diverse practice. His clinical passions include functional, reconstructive, and trauma aspects of plastic and hand surgery as well as cosmetic surgery.

His interests include reading, art, music, pop culture and comics. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
