Totally impressed

I was able to find one of two doctors in my home state of Connecticut quickly, and he performed the procedure the next day. Not needing anesthesia was a big plus for me, and also allowed me to drive myself home after the very short time I was in OR. I was seemingly healing fairly well, until around day 8 I was swelling up pretty badly. On day 13 I had my 2 week follow up, at which time I was given a prescription for prednisone, but was told I did not need physical therapy. On day 27 I found a CHP who helped me recover. This was absolutely needed, and continued for five weeks.

I have no way of knowing if I chose the more common mini open procedure if I would have had issues afterwards, but the tiny scar, no stitches, and no anesthesia was a big benefit for me.

I was unhappy with my recovery time and lack of concern by my doctor post procedure. Otherwise 5 stars was a no brainer.

I had carpal tunnel for several years and it was getting worse. I put off surgery because I remembered what my Mom went through when she had her surgery. I was invited by a local orthopedic Dr to attend a presentation on the in office endoscopic procedure, and after the presentation I decided to have it done. The procedure went well, and overall I am pleased with the results. My carpal tunnel symptoms are gone. I do feel however, that the recovery time was misrepresented. It was stated in the presentation that full recovery would take 3-6 DAYS. While I did regain full use of my hand within that time period, I am almost two months out from the surgery and still have some minor swelling and discomfort. After doing some research on line, I discovered that this is normal and these symptoms often take several months to resolve completely. I feel that this should be stated up front in the presentation. I definitely am glad I got it done, but I was also considering getting my other hand done as well, and I have decided to wait until symptoms worsen before having the procedure again.

The carpal tunnel release surgery was done in the relaxed atmosphere of an office with just local anesthetic (like the dentist) and I felt no pain. Three months later I was re-upholstering my dining room chairs and stopped to think, “Wow, I’m right back to my old activities already!”;
