Are you able to do a release on both wrists on the same day?

When clinically indicated, a patient can have ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release performed on both wrists on the same day. There are several published manuscripts that include outcomes data on patients who had simultaneous bilateral releases.3,6,7,10

Postoperative therapy is typically not required.5

Victor Marwin, MD, MBA is a distinguished orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity conditions. A native of Buffalo, New York, Dr. Marwin's academic journey began at The George Washington University, where he excelled as a varsity athlete, significantly contributing to the Men's Varsity Heavyweight Crew Team’s success. His athletic prowess earned him a US Rowing National Championship and led his team to a near victory at the IRA National Championships. He later pursued premedical studies at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by his medical degree at Albany Medical College. Dr. Marwin's commitment to excellence continued through a rigorous orthopaedic surgery residency at the Jacobs School of Medicine, SUNY Buffalo.

Dr. Marwin's career reflects his dedication to service, including his tenure as an orthopaedic surgeon and Fleet Marine Force Naval Officer at Camp Lejeune, NC. He deployed to Afghanistan, providing critical support to Task Force Southwest and Special Forces in challenging conditions. Following his military service, he pursued a specialized fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the Jacobs School of Medicine, honing his expertise in treating a comprehensive range of conditions from the shoulder to the fingertip.

Despite his busy professional life, Dr. Marwin completed an MBA at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, underscoring his commitment to leadership and healthcare management. He enjoys quality time with his wife and four children, alongside pursuing his passion for the outdoors. Dr. Marwin is dedicated to employing state-of-the-art techniques, including shoulder replacement, arthroscopy, and minimally invasive procedures, affirming his commitment to improving his patients' quality of life.
