Are you able to do a release on both wrists on the same day?

When clinically indicated, a patient can have ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release performed on both wrists on the same day. There are several published manuscripts that include outcomes data on patients who had simultaneous bilateral releases.3,6,7,10

Postoperative therapy is typically not required.5

Many patients can tolerate immediate motion of their hand. Please consult with your treating physician for post procedure instructions.5

Dr. Virginia Hung, MD is a distinguished plastic surgeon who is board certified with a special certificate in hand surgery. She completed her medical education at Harvard Medical School and continued her training with a residency at the prestigious Harvard Combined Plastic Surgical Residency, followed by a hand fellowship at the Curtis Memorial National Hand Center in Baltimore.

Dr. Hung has a strong background in surgery of the hand and upper extremity, demonstrating expertise in treating various conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren's disease, fractures, tendon injuries, and more.
