Most patients can return to work and normal activities within 3-5 days.3,5,6,8

Ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release can be performed in a procedure room or office setting. 8-10

Ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release with UltraGuideCTR is typically performed using only local anesthesia. 3,6,8,9

The small incision is typically closed with adhesive strips or a bandage instead of sutures.3,6,8,9

Most patients only require ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain management.5,6,8,10

When clinically indicated, a patient can have ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release with UltraGuideCTR performed on both wrists on the same day. There are several published manuscripts that include outcomes data on patients who had simultaneous bilateral releases. 3,6,7,10

Postoperative therapy is typically not required.5

Many patients can tolerate immediate motion of their hand. Please consult with your treating physician for post procedure instructions.5

Carpal tunnel release is generally covered by commercial insurance and Medicare.* Patient payment responsibility will vary based upon your benefit plan established by your insurance carrier and the “site of service” of the procedure.
