“Life is so good, especially after I got my second wrist done.”
Shari Hirschfeld is a medical ultrasound sales rep who spends long hours driving and working out at the gym. A few years ago, she began experiencing carpal tunnel symptoms but tried to push through the discomfort. When the pain worsened, she knew it was time to take action.

“I’m not sure how I developed carpal tunnel,” Shari explains. “It could be from all the driving, holding a hair dryer, or maybe pregnancy-related, but over the last four or five years, it really started affecting my life.”
The pain was especially disruptive at night. “I’d wake up multiple times, shaking out my hands to try to get feeling back. The pain was excruciating. It would wake me up every few hours,” she says. Even during workouts, she had to stop running to shake her hands and sometimes felt pain and numbness when lifting weights.
Discovering a New Treatment Option
Initially, Shari avoided seeking treatment and worked through the pain. But everything changed when she learned about a new, less-invasive carpal tunnel release (CTR) procedure using real-time ultrasound. A Sonex Health representative reached out to Shari about demonstrating the UltraGuideCTR™ device to orthopedic surgeons, and she quickly became intrigued.
“I thought, ‘this is for me,’” she says. “It was like a blessing to learn about UltraGuideCTR. I realized it could get me back to work faster, with no downtime and no pain.”
Shari chose to have the procedure on her dominant right hand first, followed by her left hand a few months later.
“It was literally instant relief,” she says. “With ultrasound, the doctor could see everything, so the incision was tiny. Instead of stitches, he used a bandage, and the healing was quick.”
Restful Nights Post CTR-US
The difference in her sleep was immediate.
“Now, I sleep through the night without any pain waking me up,” Shari shares. “I don’t have to shake out my hands anymore. It’s been a huge improvement in my quality of life.”
After both procedures, Shari was back at work the very next day and even back to lifting weights within a week. “I just couldn’t believe how quickly I recovered,” she adds.
Today, Shari is not only enjoying better sleep but also loves sharing her positive experience with others. “I tell people there’s nothing to be afraid of,” she says. “It’s a quick procedure with no stitches, immediate relief, and you can go back to work right away. What have you got to lose?”
